Today is my parent's wedding anniversary! I told my mum about my honey chocolate cake and she decided to make it for their wedding anniversary. She made a garden theme of the cake complete with edible flowers and fence (sponge fingers). The purple ribbon is from the bouquet of flowers she received from us (the children). Isn't she amazing? Now why didn't I think of this?
Happy Anniversary Mum & Dad, with lots of love from me :)

DeleteThis is absolutely beautiful! Every cake should be decorated with flowers! What are the little bees made from?
ReplyDeleteThanks! These bees are made from yellow marzipan. I used yellow ready to roll icing for mine.
DeleteAh how sweet, hope they had a lovely anniversary! you just reminded me it's my parents wedding anniversary next week! I absolutely love the addition of sponge fingers around the edge of this cake...I used to love it when my mom made trifle growing up (not cause I'm a fan of trifle) but because I would get to eat the leftover trifle sponges straight out the box - yum!
ReplyDeleteI love the sponge fingers too and am gutted I didn't think of it first! They had a lovely anniversary, thanks. Hope your parents have a good one too next week. Are you baking something special? :)
