My Cookbook Collection

This month's random recipes challenge set by Dom from Belleau Kitchen is something a little different. How different? Well, there's no baking involved! So no recipes or bakes today but a little sneak peek at my cookbook collection. My place is extremely messy and I mean Messy with a capital M so this is most of my collection but not all as I have books (and other stuff) lying around everywhere.  I seem to have a slight cookbook addiction at the moment and my collection is rapidly expanding. If I enter random recipes often enough, I may actually get round to using all of them by 2030!! ;-)

My main bookshelf - there are a few other books on the bottom shelf but I think you get the idea...and yes that is the Harry Potter collection :)

 A closer look

The 'cupcakey' end of the shelf

The spiral bound book is a collection of recipes my colleagues gave me as a leaving present.. Ros's own cookbook!

I also have a huge stack of magazines on my floor and chair - this is just a random selection from the pile

This is a glimpse of my extremely messy table. There's books/magazines/papers/bills/stationery/cake boxes/cake boards ... I'll let you use your imagination as I'm too embarrassed to show you my whole table!!

  1. Lovely collection - impressive cupcake reference section!
I think we share quite a few books in common.
Don't worry about the mess - it shows there is a creative genius at work. And you have done very well to not let us have a glimpse of any mess at all.

  2. As an accomplice cookbook collector, I definitely understand the delicious chaos. Quite frankly, Ros, I wouldn't have it any other way. Impressive indeed.

Thank you so much for sharing...

  8. It is hard isn't it, they do start to take over the house. I have cookbooks lying here and there, but now have a new tall bookcase to house them. They used to be two deep, which was useless.

Oh and remember you can use your cookbooks for the bookmarked recipes challenge too :)

    1. I've almost run out of space ;) I had to sacrifice my novels to the charity shop so I could keep my cookbooks. Well worth it though :) Thanks for the reminder about bookmarked recipes!

  9. Your collection is seriously impressive! Mine isn't nearly as extensive as yours but luckily I have a sister whose is and whenever I want to borrow anything from her collection she's more than obliging!

  11. Why am I not surprised to see so many baking books on your shelves ;-) I guess it's also no surprise that we've got quite a few of the same titles, although you have heaps more than me! And since you pointed it out, I've been noticing Short and Sweet everywhere too.

  17. That's a fine collection and it's not messy in my eyes. Please don't pick out a Harry Potter book for a future Random Recipe challenge - the result could be a little scary.
